Samsung Galaxy E7 Review

Samsung adds yet another mid-range device to its lineup with the Galaxy E7. With a plastic unibody, rounded edges and metal band, the Galaxy E7 doesn't stray too far from the standard Samsung design. The soft, matte back gave critics a relatively good grip on the otherwise smooth phone. At 139 grams, it is relatively lightweight and measures 5.9 x 3 x 0.3 inches.
The Galaxy E7 sports a 5.5-inch, 720p Super AMOLED display. As expected of an AMOLED screen, experts note the excellent color reproduction, deep blacks, good viewing angles and overall vibrancy of the display. While its pixel density of 267ppi cannot compare to flagship phones, it was still sharp enough for most reviewers. They also add that touch was very smooth and responsive, making for a pleasant experience overall.

Equipped with a 1.2GHz quad-core processor and 2GB of RAM, it is no surprise that critics reported a smooth and lag free experience during basic tasks and when playing high end games. It also comes equipped with 16GB of internal storage, which can be expanded thanks to the addition of a microSD slot, a 13MP rear camera that takes 1080p videos and a 5MP fixed focus front camera. Unfortunately, it only comes with 3G connectivity and is also missing a light sensor so you will need to adjust screen brightness manually. Powering the phone is the 2,950mAh battery which lasted experts 6 hours of continuous heavy usage.
While not a bad phone, reviewers have a difficult time recommending the Galaxy E7 due to its price point. Android Advice states, "The Samsung Galaxy E7 is a decent phone overall…But…users have better options."

On the back is a glowing Lenovo logo whose colour you can customise -- cleverly, it can be set to glow different colours for different kinds of notifications. It feels like a light, decently built phone, with curved edges and a flat back. The white model is nothing exceptional, but the hot pink one will definitely turn heads. It has a better camera too, with 13 megapixels to the S860's 8, and a better 5-megapixel front camera for top-notch video calls. The only areas it undercuts the S860 are its RAM, with 1GB, and its battery, which is half the capacity at 2,000mAh. Both run the ageing  Android  4.2 Jelly Bean software, with an update likely soon after launch. Lenovo's custom skin isn't one of the best, removing the app drawer, so all your apps have to be kept on a home screen.
